Poulton Gardening Club
Poulton Garden Club is a friendly group of people who love gardens and are keen to continue learning about all things gardening! You don’t have to be a garden expert to join, in fact many members are complete beginners keen to learn from those within the club who are more experienced gardeners.
About the club
We meet up monthly during Spring and Summer months (usually March – September) with interesting speakers, masterclasses, guides on key garden topics, and garden visits organised both within the village and further afield. Each meeting includes complimentary drinks, swop and drop table and ‘Jobs for the Month’ gardening guide. In addition, the club undertakes a small community project each year to enhance a public space within the village – it’s a great way to work with new people and contribute to the village community.
Dates for 2026 are:
20th April | 18th May | 15th June | 20th July | 17th August | 21st September
Club meetings are held in the Poulton Village Hall at 7.30pm.
Garden visits
A key part of the club are the garden visits which always inspire and impress! Open only to club members the club organises visits both within the village and further afield.
Poulton Village: During the spring and summer months, several members open their gardens for a few hours so fellow members can visit, see different gardens (both large and small), and explore different styles and approaches to gardening. It is a very popular part of our club and a great way to expand your garden knowledge and get to know each other better.
External Garden Visits: In addition, a number of external garden visits are also organised each year, usually to gardens not generally open to the public. The visits incur additional cost (usually £15-£20) with each visit including a guided tour and refreshments
Membership
We welcome members from Poulton Village and surrounding areas. Membership is renewable at the start of each garden club year, usually March.
Membership costs £25/person each year or £20/person for joint membership. This fee includes hire of the village hall, drinks at the meetings (wine, beer, soft drinks), interesting speakers (for which fees are paid) and local village garden visits.
Non-members can also join the club meetings for a small fee of £5 to cover costs.
