St Michael & All Angels Church

Poulton Parish
Poulton is served by the Ampney Churches group, comprising the parishes of Ampney Crucis, Ampney St. Mary, Ampney St. Peter, Driffield, Harnhill and, of course, Poulton.
St Michael and All Angels Church in Poulton replaces the original 14th century building that was sited about half a mile away from Poulton Priory. That church was also dedicated to St Michael but had reached such a serious state of disrepair that it was decided to build a new parish church sited more closely to the village centre. The present church being consecrated and opened in 1874. William Butterfield was the architect.
The parish is currently in an interregnum period as Canon Rev. John Swanton has retired and we are advertising for a new vicar. However, services continue as normal, everyone is still very welcome to join in all and any services and events.
